ABOUT HELLTHY

Hellthy is a lifestyle brand that utilizes fashion, art and live music to inspire people to bridge the gap from self to ideal self. Hellthy is for anyone willing to make a positive change. We are harm reductionists and nothing without our community. We are someone to talk to, a shoulder to lean on, a friend. We are here to help you beat your hell.

Started in early 2022, Hellthy is a post-pandemic passion project by two addicts in recovery, taking things one day at a time; on their terms. Cory Chavis sought a way to self-express and start a dialogue with other people about the realities of recovery. Almost three years clean off alcohol and other illicit substances, Cory knew the next step in his journey was to reach others.

With a background as a musician and interest in skateboard clothing, Cory contacted Sean Bernhart of Evil Paradise to collaborate on the art for the logo, t-shirts and website. Sean’s connection to the skateboarding industry has given Hellthy an entryway into an important community of youth struggling with self identity in a subculture prone to substance abuse. Equating the struggle for personal and collective mental health with hell only serves to give health care professionals, drug counselors, social workers and other mental health advocates, the symbolic tools to justify the fight for the mental well-being of all. Awareness products fall quickly to capitalizing on serious civil rights and environmental issues while neglecting the communities they represent; however, we aim to empower and amplify the voices of the mentally afflicted and give a platform to people of all walks of life on their journey to mental health, whatever that might look like to them.

With our reach we hope to connect local mental health services with the people who need it most. Partnered with Richard Lepre at Puddled Booking, Hellthy hosts events, concerts and markets, regionally and abroad to spread their message, collaborating with venues, bands and municipal governments to encourage mental health awareness. We still believe that despite the best efforts of every organization before us, there is still much unfinished work to do.
